Where have Libraries Vanished?

I still remember summer vacations’ greatest gift being access to a library, whether it was a known school, college or sometimes a city library. Yes, libraries were in general the ‘cool’ place to hang out in summers with the multiple aisles of stacked up books running from one topic to another; and endless ocean of knowledge, awareness and ultimately happiness.
The key idea behind a library is that a Book can be looked as a common resource shareable between readers over a period of time and that really lowers the barrier to pick up a book, and once a good book is started to read; it will surely get finished!

Today when I visit the same library, even in summer months, one can hardly find serious books lovers there. Physical Libraries are also not able to match the cost structure that is now there with books online and for individual use. Sometimes I wonder if libraries will all together vanish or just become ‘tourist’ places; by the time my kids grow up! Ohh! That would be such a shame.

Books are Mans' best friends- yet because of changing lifestyles and schedules, we have lost touch with libraries and habit of reading new and variety of books. Often we land up at a friends house and just browsing through her catalogue of books, we feel how wonderful it would be to share or borrow the books amongst each other. We sometimes even hesitate to ask. However, imagine that we start sharing this vast collection of books online and they can be accessed and then borrowed by our friends.

On RentSher, you can do just that- rent out or rent in books which are shared by other people in your area! From Douglas Adams to Jeffery Archer; From Adam Smith to Bill Gates and from Robin Cook to Dab Brown; you can immerse yourself in the quest for universe through the gift of books. And again, we save you of the hassle of renting cost, delivery, etc by taking care of all those things, while you just enjoy the pleasure of books.

Essentially in light of Book sharing and renting online - not all is lost; we will move from Physical libraries to online libraries to ‘Virtual Libraries’! Hence, it is not the end of libraries, they would just assume a different form.
